My Top Ten Podcasts

About seven months ago I purchased my first iPod, and since then I've been exploring podcasts. Now I spend more time listening to and watching podcasts than I do watching TV or listening to the radio. It has completely changed the way I get news and consume media. Therefore, here are my ten favorite podcasts:

  1. This Week in Tech
A group of journalists and publishers join Leo Laporte to discuss technology news and issues of the week.
  2. Inside the Net
Amber and Leo interview the creators of the hottest sites.
  3. KFI Tech Guy
Leo gets the award for the best radio voice and personality. This is his AM radio technology show from LA. Note: You can subscribe to Radio Leo to get all three of the above podcasts in one feed.
  4. Diggnation
This covers the top stories from digg.com. More than that, it is full of drunken humor by geeks Kevin and Alex.
  5. New Scientist Podcast
New Scientist is a great weekly science magazine that covers the latest developments in studies and discoveries. Their podcast is just as good.
  6. MacBreak
The iPod video version of MacBreak has the highest production value of any podcast to date. This covers news and tips for Mac users, and while it only publishes a couple a month, they are very good.
  7. dl.tv
Get the latest tech news and reviews.
  8. TrailerCast.tv
Movie trailers on your iPod. Excellent.
  9. The Daily Nut
A show that covers viral internet video. I can't help it.
  10. Mysterious Universe
I'm still not sure if I believe that intelligent life exists outside of earth, or if ghosts are real, but it's fun listening to this host explore recent developments in alternative science. The music used in this show really helps to set the mood.
