Squad, Collaborative Code Editor
Squad is a web-based collaboration editor I helped build as part of the SproutBox team. Squad is the conception of SproutBox co-founder Mike Trotzke, and is the fourth company to launch from SproutBox since we formed in January this year. ReadWriteWeb has a great writeup: Like Google Wave for Developers: Real-Time, Collaborative Code Editing.

Squad allows users to open, edit, and save text files on their local hard drive. Files are easily shared with a URL and collaborators see each others' edits in real-time. It features essential elements of code editors such as syntax highlighting, line numbering, auto-indent, tabs, and light and dark highlighting themes.
The Squad collaboration experience is a delight as it auto-scrolls to the editing point of the active collaborator. Collaborators are not required to login or signup, they simply visit the share URL. A chat room shows who is currently participating, and paying Squad members have a searchable record of all chat history.
You can try the free version of Squad or signup for the Solo or Team editions. The Squad team has a document explaining "What We're Thinking" for the future of Squad.
